Worked example — Changing and improving

S: Month-end comments were copied from the previous period.

T: Make variance comments usable for the director’s meeting in 30 days.

A: I replaced free text with three required fields: cause, owner, date. I rejected packs that left them blank.

R: Unexplained lines fell from 11 to 2. The director stopped asking “why is this still red?” in the meeting.
